From the mintage years of 2006-2007, the obverse of this coin features Lady Liberty, symbolizing vigilance and faithfulness to duty. The reverse features the same design found on the 2006 American Eagle Platinum Proof Coins, representative of our nation?s legislative branch of government. The design depicts a Legislative Muse looking away from the law she has just inscribed. She is seated between the two bodies of Congress, the House of Representatives and the Senate, represented by Corinthian columns. Perched atop volumes of law and learning are two eagles. The 2006 reverse design was created by United States Mint Artistic Infusion master designer Joel Iskowitz and engraved by United States Mint sculptor/engraver Don Everhart.
